Green Paving

Asphalt is a uniquely renewable pavement! Asphalt can be used again and again and again, and never lose its adhesive properties or value. About 100 million tons of asphalt pavement are reclaimed each year, and over 95 percent of that total is reused or recycled.

During the Full Depth Reclamation, or FDR, process, old asphalt is rejuvenated to become an active part of the glue that holds the new pavement together. Not only is asphalt rejuvenated to become new asphalt pavement; materials from other industries such as rubber, glass, and asphalt roofing shingles are also routinely recycled into asphalt pavements instead of going into landfills.

The FDR --"recyclable" process will also take 50% less time to complete than a full reconstruction project, which requires hauling in new aggregate. The FDR process uses the existing asphalt, and therefore eliminates the amount of haul-off, reducing the amount of labor for each project.

The goal of our team is to increase return on the original paving investment by using what's already there instead of replacing it. This saves time, money, resources, and limits vehicle movements as there is not a need to truck in new materials.
